Cynthia, I forgot to comment on how unusually colored a couple of those chicks are. It's really neat. I'm excited to see them feather out too. I am also interested to see how those leghorn/ee mixes turn out. If they lay the colorful eggs, but in mass quantities, that'd be really neat.
I think it'd be fun to try homemade cheese.
Madchicken, that is also a handsome boy. Rebecca's stock is gorgeous. I hatched 5/7 eggs from her, but of the five that hatched, FOUR were boys. Awesome.
Sasha, I don't know a lot about sexing polish, but yeah, that one looks awfully suspicious.
Sundance, so I gave this lavender the shots this morning. She didn't fight it like Thing 2 did, so I'm worried that maybe I did it wrong. I didn't notice any liquid dripping out, so I *think* it made it inside. She was more thickly feathered, so it made it tougher. Other than her not fighting the painkiller at all, that one went smoothly. I then tried to give her the liquids (cuz why not?), and I did have some of that drip out, so I repositioned, and she fought that a tiny bit, then shot the rest in. So now we wait. I'm hoping I did it right and I see a dramatic improvement in a few hours.
