Hi everyone! I'm never going to be able to catch up on all the fun being had here! Hope I haven't missed anything BIG. I've had so many visitors and some are still here and more coming on Sunday. I guess I complained about being lonely after my daughter left for college maybe a little too much. Anyway it is really late and I just wanted to say hi and hope everyone is well! Cynthia thanks for all the cute chick pictures. I hit the jackpot getting on tonight to be able to see those.

I am in Utah County and have been buying Purina feed from IFA. Is anyone else using Purina or have recommendations on something that would be a better feed?

i do not know if its better but i like nutrena feed that is sold at cal ranch. i feed the all flock. if you talk to different people you will get different opinions on what is a better feed so go with what you think is best. for me my girls have always had nutrena and it has always been good so i like it. some people get feed from the local feed mill, it would be fresher, i think the name is leland mills? sorry i am not sure of the name but its worth checking out i think. its in utah county. i think someone on here gets their feed?

I regularly feed my flock Purina and I really like it. I thought I'd try something a little different, bought it at Peterson's Country Store...I'm almost done with the bag and all the chickens still have poo that's runnier than normal. From day one when I switched their freed. Won't do this again...I'll look at the bag more closely for a name this evening. I also fed Nutrena (which is a good brand) for a couple bags when I took the chicks off of medicated chick started, and liked it. Just like the Purina better. (But would never feed their food to my cat or dogs! LOL...their companion animal feeds leave a lot to be desired.)

Hey everyone..I have a friend that I haven't seen on this thread, but she may show up now, because she sent me a message asking me if I wanted any of her Lavender A...or EE's. If you can roos..she has those too..she is moving.
Her name on here is dsgard. These chickens are free..and beautiful. I got a blue from her a couple of years ago, will post a pic..that I'm sure you have seen by now, it was my first blue. I didn't know she was working on lavenders. The EE's are this years hatch. So still pretty young.

Bigger than the lavenders I had hatch that you guys have. This is a blue, I haven't checked out her latest pictures, going to soon though.

And oh yeah, she has turkeys too.

just so you know, the purina chicken food is not the same purina that makes dog and cat food. same name, different company

ARA, I have several Swedish Flower's pipped! And, I have one of the Faverolles pipped. Here we go! Man, I hope I have a good hatch with these, after what just happened with my Silkies! Same ol same ol..not sure what's up with that. I need to find a roo for my splash..maybe having eggs here would work.

I do have a mixed bag of chickens that I am going to give away. The oldest ones are three years old. I have a GLW and a SLW that are three. The two year olds are light and dark Brahmas, black AM's and lavendar AM's. This year's bunch is mainly farmyard mix EE's although I do have one lavendar AM pullet. Out of the two year olds I have a really nice black AM roo and a lavendar AM roo. Both are very well behaved. I do have a light Brahma roo but his behavior is questionable so he is probably better off in the stew pot (he is two years old). I will try to get some pictures tomorrow of the bunch and post them on this thread. You will have to forgive their appearance though since they have started molting and some of the girls have bare backs from the breeding. They are all very healthy and love to free range. If anyone is interested, PM me and we can arrange meeting somewhere. I would take them with me but I really don't want to drag them 1700 miles to Virginia. Cynthia is right, I do have turkeys but I am planning on butchering them although I could be persuaded to give one or more up if someone wants one to keep. I have two black spanish toms, one bourbon red hen and one blue slate hen (all hatched this year) and one bourbon red tom that is two years old.
