Utah!

We're home and all of the chicks are settled into their homes. They'd even be asleep if my son hadn't woken them up. He's LOVING them. I can't convince him to go to bed, but it's exciting so I'm letting him stay up a little bit late. :)

Here are my girls in their new home:

Lisa - I have your girl hanging out in a box next to them! :)

AND, I'll be in West Valley/Taylorsville tomorrow evening, showing houses. So, I'll be CLOSE to Sundance. Lisa, I can be chicken train for your chick from Cynthia if you'd like.
Just let me know if/when/where to meet you! I teach band in the morning and the afternoon, but I'm free from about 9-2:30 (the beginning or end of that window being better!). :)

Daloorashens - I did get them all from her! I have an Australorp, a buff sex link, and two Swedish Flowers. The Australorp is bigger than any of the others, even though she and the buff sex link are the same age. The two SFHs keep trying to huddle underneath her :)

Congrats on the new babies Aravis! So happy they made it to their new home :)

Glad you got on here, will you pm me your ph number just in case it works out for SPhinx to pick that chick up tomorrow? That is...if you will be home and it works ok for you. Hoping she can still do it. I have Sphinx' cell so I can text her your number/and check with her tomorrow if she is not on here before then. (when has that ever happened lol!) Thanks so much again for picking her up, I really appreciate the chickie train ride :)

Edit ** Just saw your last post. Sounds like the stars are lining up for me to get that baby soon! (insert big grinning smiley...)

Same goes for me on those Leghorn/EE's you guys all have that hatched a few months back....If they really lay the loads of blue eggs and someone decided not to keep one of them, I would love to get my hands on one (eventually)!

You know Lisa, one of those girls has your name on it, I just don't know which one yet, crossing my fingers the one from Cynthia lays early so I can get an idea what we can expect! I'll probably keep her because I love her personality, not a friendly chicken to me, but I love watching her... The others most of them have muffs and beards, kind of fun to watch them feather in... they actually look a lot like the one from Cynthia, interesting since their dad is a blue amer and the one from Cynthia was from a lav roo....

Daloorashens, you know I am a sucker for the muffs/beards lol so that is a bonus if they have 'em...yes do please let me know when/if you do it, I will gladly buy one! Thanks!

Now....we need to see some picsof your coop project/set up, and updated pics of those chickens....I would love to see an updated pic of your olive egger from Michelle (did she lay yet?) and those you just got from her if you get a chance! If you get time! Oh and that blue marans roo! i have never seen one :)

Hey! I just was reading your siggie, you have quite the collection from this summer lol you have all kinds of birds now! How fun !

I'm hoping that little cockerel of mine won't be too lonely- I have him in the big coop, but separated from the rest by chicken wire. So, he's not technically ALONE. I'm so bummed because he was basically acting as filler for Potsie. I'm not SURE he's a boy, but he sure acts like it, and seems massive for his age. I'll grow him out a bit and see what happens though.

Lisa, I'll be coming home late enough that you may not be interested in meeting up tonight, but it sure would be fun!!

I have to say, I have never been tempted by chicks like I'm tempted with Sundance's current chicks. Decisions, decisions...

Daloora, yes, I will keep you in mind if I decide to place one..I kept two..hoping I get a girl, plus the ones in my bator now..which by the way...did not do nearly as well as my last batch!! I'm not happy at all. Only three viable babies right now. They go into lock down next Wed. Crossing fingers that these stay alive and hatch. What a difference, and nothing was done different..that I'm aware of. Same breeder, same bator, same temp/hubidity. You just never know with shipped eggs. Maybe these were handled differently.
Sphinx, that would be great if you could get that baby to Lisa..my guess is, it's driving poor Andrea crazy with it's crying. She was crying in the truck on our way..she will be lonely. I told Andrea that she will have to snuggle it when she can. This baby is used to running around in a run during the day.
Andrea...glad you guys got home ok. I was a little worried. Hope you figured out what was up with that brake drum.

Lisa, I have pictures of that polish I told you I would post. And, I have pictures of the splash, took some before we left, will be interesting to compare down the road. That baby is growing up purdy.

Ok, had to try this..you said you couldn't get yours to work? Didn't want to try to upload pictures here if it wasn't working..it's working now!

Wait! Lisa, you got a Naked Neck??? Now I will have to go get pictures of my white girl I kept. She also has feathers on the neck, the way I wanted..they are like giant showgirls...lol...but, lay giant eggs!

Here are pictures of the Polish, Big Bertha the one I got from DiDi, dsgard...the NN but not NN for Lisa..and a picture of myself and Andrea..me in all my glory, no makeup, took off my sunglasses, but put them back on when I went into the store..F. lights..hurt my eyes! Oh well.. :))

Ok Polish experts! Lisa, I found out that the feathers are not stringy, but..STICKY!

Scott put a piece of watermelon in their run. lol...they loved it. And I had just washed
Cotton's face off, the white Silkie. She didn't get as messy this time, but this Buff girl did!

Sticky

I was so surprised when I looked at this picture, didn't know I had Cleo in the picture
Big Bertha usually runs away from Cleo..is that a stink eye from Cleo though? I love the
pattern on Big Bertha. This bird must weigh a good 9 or 10 lbs.!

Pretty bird..hey Lisa..is that a tight enough pea comb to get that colored egg?

She is part Brahma and part Ameraucana..red in the face, waiting for her to start laying
but she hasn't been here for long.

Lisa, I know you will see her soon, but here are a few pics of her just before she left here
yesterday

darker feathers coming in here and there

she's getting some wattles, but I'm not too concerned at this point, my Welsummer did
too, and, she turned pretty pink at this age!

Love the feathering

aravis..love your set up for the babies! They are lucky to have gone to your family! I know you will enjoy them. Glad your little guy is enjoying them. He is so cute..and again, what a head of hair that baby has! What a neat family.

Wow Lisa, that NNN splash is going to be fun to watch! I'm happy you got her. Cynthia, you look great, as always. Don't worry

It's so fun to see all the chicken people on here.

Oh and what is this I keep reading about Lisa on a diet?! Stop it! You don't need to diet, girl! You're already beautiful. I guess it wouldn't help if I mention that I cooked some bacon in worcestershire sauce and spices this morning............

I got some video this morning of my crazy turkeys eating breakfast, but they didn't act nearly as wild as they usually do, now that I had the camera in hand
hmm.png
I demand savagery on grains!!!!......Once my laptop is fixed, Ill have to unload some of what I got. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow morning for crazy shots. I was a little worried about my little tom last night. He had literally pigged out so much on feed, crab apples, grass and other foraging, that his throat was full to capacity. He couldn't even swallow. I tried to get him to drink some water, but no, he decided he wanted to go eat more grass

Don't worry, he's alive and fine today.
