Utah!

Hattie, i'm assuming you've been consulting with the experts here and Dr. Google, DVM on your hen? How awful.

Yes, I did run a 5k last night. It was the undead run, which is a benefit for the Huntsman Cancer Institute. My friends and I dressed as undead super heroes. It was about as much fun as running can be (I still hate running with a white hot passion). Here's me in my zombie makeup:

Sphinx, you are so cute. Bet your kids get a kick out of their mom. That's great you did that run for that cause. My mom had cancer, her mom had cancer, and one of my sister's had cancer. My mom is gone now, but she went mostly because of her diabetes. My grandmother did pass with cancer, my sister kicked it so far, and that was about 4 years ago..what a great cause to run for. It's so prevalent..no cure most of the time. :(

Well, setting my eggs late didn't matter I guess. I have two pips in my Cinnamon Sussex. I am hoping for a cinnamon, if I don't get any, the light Sussex are pretty too. Marked a lot like the Delaware. I could get either/both in this hatch. I have 10 in lock down!

My grandson ran that last night. He was a Zombie. Pretty cute idea You look awsome

Three pips, and one getting more aggressive on that shell. Going to let them have it through the night. I need sleep. Now watch, I'll be up.

Sphinx, love that pic! You did a good job on the makeup. I envy people that can muster up the ambition to run....I can't do it! You are just a fun person, always doing something interesting for sure :)

Hattie, sorry your baby is not improving! It is so hard to make that decision. I feel for you girl :hugs

Cynthia, good luck through the night! Hope you really sleep and wakeup to lots of furry cuteness!

I agree with Birdman on the roosters....if I had one, he would have to behave or he would be (somebody else's!) dinner. Funny how much I love my girls and how attached I get...but if one gets mean, it is getting easier to let them go.

Mimi--I sure do love my Silver laced polish boy, he has gotten so beautiful....the lady from Wyoming has not come to pick him up yet, and I am kind of ok with that, I am going to have a hard time letting that boy go. He is going to make some beautiful babies! I wish she lived closer, then I could snag one of his chicks when the time comes! He is getting those pretty saddle feathers that hang down the side of his tail. His hairdo is gigantic too....why o why do the cutest Polish turn out to be boys lol it happens every time. Are you going to keep yours? Are you still sure they are both boys?

Red---my Black Ameraucana same age-ish as yours started laying. They are super light really pale greenish bluish. Hope you get a little darker from your girl! I got two eggs from her so far, maybe they will darken up. I also have my second Wheaten Am that started, they are the bluest so far of my girls. One more Blue Wheaten to start laying in a month, then that will be all the Am's/ in my flock. Finally getting those blue eggs, mission completed ;)

The makeup was actually done by a friend of mine who does face painting and henna tattoos for a living. She also does cutesy kids' face painting. If you ever want her to come to a party and do any of the above, let me know and I'll give you her contact info.

Lisa, congrats on new hens laying. Very exciting. Are you thinking you may end up keeping that polish boy?

Cynthia, can't wait for those babies to hatch. It makes me want to incubate again. It's so exciting when they hatch.

My first baby is here, surprise surprise, it's yellow. :) Will be white someday with either black around the neck, wings, and tip of tail..or what they call cinnamon around the neck, wings, and tip of tail. A pretty light brownish/with a bit of red look in it. Another baby is starting to zip.

This is my last hatch. Until spring..then maybe I'll have a broody, or I can use my old still air bator. Then, I will need some nice breed eggs from someone here!

Is that last Wheaten that is to start laying in about a month the same age as mine? I was just thinking today that she looks like it could be another month.
Hey Red, you have one of the EE mixes right? Mine is getting bigger, and more pink. I am hoping the leghorn part wants to start laying sooner than later!

Sundance, that baby frizzle is getting bigger. Not too afraid of me now. I see some other pretty color coming out in her. Going to be pretty!!

Lisa, how is that non NN looking? I am still thinking girl on mine. Not nearly as big as my white NN. And they are only a couple of days apart..yours is from my white NN hatch. So yours should be getting big too.

Lisa, awesome on all those new eggs!!! I think mine are too stressed out still to give me any new ones, but soon, fingers crossed!!

Who here runs lights??? I'm thinking about doing it until Jan/Feb and then give them a break for a little while... but then I'll feel sorry for them in the cold, lol... We'll see

Going to be busy these next few days trying to get details done at my mom's before this maybe snowstorm gets here, ACK!!! I"m not quite ready!!!

Sphinx... are you sure you're my age?? You look a lot younger than I think I look, maybe we should ask Lisa, lol
