Utah!

Good morning everyone! Anyone want to take bets on my SFH? I'm really hoping girl for both, especially with Martha (the black and white crested, she is absolutely gorgeous!) I tried to get side and front views of their heads, they are the gray and the crested in these pictures. They were curious and a little scared of the camera, so it was a little hard, luckily these two are the most likely to run up and check things out when I put them in there. I think they're picking on Martha, she's the smallest of everyone. They're moving into the coop on Sunday so hopefully when they have a bit more space things will calm down at least a little. I'm going to post and run because I'm off to take my son to the doctor, I think he has an ear infection. :(

Oh dear. Ara, I hope your little boy gets to feeling better soon.

Oh boy, a guessing game! Your gray SFW looks pretty girly to me. Martha could still go either way. How old are they, now? If they're 6 weeks, I would guess that you have two girls. If they're closer to something like 3 or 4 weeks, though, Martha may be a strapping lad. For now, I say both girls.

Ah, I would say girl, then. Both my Icelandic cockerels were noticeably pink in the face by that age. Martha looks pretty pale

They'll be six weeks on Saturday. I hope you're right! Martha is my favorite, she's just so friendly!

I did my best feathering.

According to the Swedish Flower experts, they say feather sexing is easy on these..let's hope so!
Here is a picture of what I think your one with the crest will look close to. Note the coloring on your little one's head already, close to this.

Only yours has stayed black, the one I had turned blue like this one.
I sold it yesterday. I still have two I am watching.

Here are a few pictures of my Partridge from Sundance...I am being told that it is looking like a boy so far, but, still a little early to tell.

Sure is a pretty little thing!

HELP! HELP! HELP! One of our chickens is possibly egg bound. She's eating and drinking and passing poop but walks like she has a 2x4 stuck up her. Then she sits and won't move except to try to eat around her. Chickendad has tried the 20 minute soak in a warm (90 degree) bath and she seemed perkier and was walking around with the other chickens. But 45 minutes later, she's back to sitting. Any suggestions? We will try the soak again in an hour.

I haven't had the problem, knock on wood! Did you go to an egg bound thread? I know a couple have dealt with it here..maybe they will see your post, but there are threads on it. Good luck!
