Great advice above and I think that I would agree with everything said so far as to at least a visit or two to make sure nothing has malfunctioned or possible "invaders" of the 4 legged variety have paid a visit...
I have been away on vacation before for about a week: we always asked a friend or neighbour to check on the birds every day, that's pretty vital, make sure they haven't spilled water into the food, or haven't pooped in the water or something. And water evaporates pretty fast over here in summer, so 7 days without a check-up is a no-go!
And I agree with Dar... we once found an egg in the height of summer, no idea when it was from but it couldn't have been laid more than aweek age, and it STANK. It was horrendous! Yeah, I think you'll know if the eggs have gone bad
I bet if you posted your general location, nothing specific, you might even have a fellow BYC'r nearby who'd be willing to check in on her. I'd be happy to if you were near us.
