Hi there- my five hens roam around during the day in a 1200 sf pen (keeps dogs but not possums/coons out). At night they are locked in a very secure 100 sf coop/run. The latter is in a slab and has a roof and partial walls, sufficient protection from most south Florida elements.
I'm going out of town for a few weeks. Have a person coming to feed and water all the beasties, but only once daily. Was going to get an automatic door opener to let them in/out, but would feel a lot safer if they were just locked in the whole time. Recent possum sightings and dog won't be around.
My question- will they go bonkers if locked in for that long? According to "the math" they have enough space inside, but it's not what they are used to.
Thanks in advance for your input!!'
