What size needles and syringes do you prefer to keep on stock for vaccinating your chicks? What preventative vaccinations do you do? Do you use vaccines other than preventative, and why?

23 or 24 gauge insulin needles is what I use. I normally only vaccinate for Meraks in my area. that said there are other vaccines out there for poultry that if I noticed an outbreak in my part of the state I would order and administer the appropriate vaccine. the one that comes to mind is a vaccine available for Newcastle or chicken pox

I only have new chicks vaccinated for Mareks at the hatchery. If I have ever given an injection, I have used a 22 gauge needle with a 3 ml syringe. Intramuscular injections should be given in the breast muscle in the thickest part close to the breast bone. Alternate sides daily or each time. If giving subcutaneous injection, give on the back of the neck after pinching up some skin.
