Vacinations

Some vaccinate and some don't. I personally don't. The main vaccine is for Mareks, another I'm aware of is for fowl pox.

Whether to vaccinate or not is generally one of those husbandry issues you need to personally decide if it's right for you or not.

The only thing I have ever vaccinated chickens for is Mareks disease as day olds from a hatchery. They charge around a dollar extra for that, and Mareks is a devastating disease that may cause neurological symptoms or tumors. Other vaccinations are normally used by people that have had diseases in their flocks or in their local areas. Fowl pox is one that may be serious in tropical or warm areas with a lot of mosquitoes. I would recommend buying baby chicks from a hatchery as a good way to get healthy birds.
