Valentine's Day 1st Annual Hatch Along

I will candle tonight and count the no-see-ums. I had 19 clears last time (no surprise, my roo has been in his winter slumber) and over 20 that I could not see in last time, but they are further along and I might to able to see bigger masses now. Quite a few of the olive eggers and marans eggs seem to be rolling to the side so I **hope** some that are left are chugging along! I will pm you with the updated totals after I check them.

Oh hey what hatchery are they using this year? i was wondering too!!
400
top row is the hatcheries, left side is possible breeds for the specialty list.

rolling to the side???

Is this some way to tell if a chick is in there?

as they become more fully developed, the side of the egg where the chick's bulk is will seem to be weighted when you hand turn them, i.e. you roll it, it will often roll back where it was or seem to have a heavier side that it wants to roll to. It is a little early but I am noticing that in some of my dark eggs that I cannot see in, so it 'feels' like there is a chick developing in there :D

I pulled 2 blood rings tonight and I have one that I have my doubts on. I will give the iffy one a few more days.
