Valentines Day Hatch-A-Long 2016

All I know is that my flock's eggs only take 19/20 days to hatch, every time. I've had the same results from my broody hens and my incubator. I've got multiple breeds of hens, so it's not breed specific. My Easter Egger, Barred Rocks, and Australorps all take the same 19/20 days.

Say hello to Pip Squeak and Goliath. The first hatched and last nights last one...

I could kiss him for that. Usually he's like "oh look. More mouths to feed" Still have 17 eggs in incubator. They are the younger eggs by about a day... This should be day 21 for them.

I just put mine into lockdown last night. I know I can't expect anything else to happen for at least another day, but I can't help peeking at them every chance I get!

Mine go on lockdown this afternoon. I decided not to touch them to candle them after I did on day 8,they were all veined and moving. It's soo tempting to candle before lockdown, but i'm soo worried about the pores,i must resist too! Lol! Good luck with your hatch!

4 piped. None have zipped, yet. The waiting is killing me! I've got a feeling that the incubator will be full of chicks tomorrow, and we will have slept through all the action.

I always candle at lockdown so I can see the air call progress and make sure they are big enough so the chicks don't drown. This time I gave them an extra day before I raised the humidity so the cells could grow just a bit more. (I candle on day 7, 14 and 18)

So it's day 19, humidity is at 70% and they are just laying there as I wait to hear peeps...............................................
