I have a pip that's about 45 minuets old seen here in the picture

As you can tell, it's downwards and at the wrong end. What all can i do about that you think? These egg's are the most expense ones i have ever bought and i would hate to lose a chick at hatching time. I know the obvious answer is wait it out at this moment, but the last time i got a bottom pip at the wrong end the chick just died in the shell on me. I thought about sticking a wire through the vent hole somehow and rolling the egg over so at least the pip would face upwards. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ok, how about this? I got home from work today to find that my incubator had been unplugged. The temp was at 80 degrees.

AHHHHH!!!

So I replug it back in, let it warm the eggs, and am now praying. After things did warm up, I did take the flashlight candle, everyone is still moving.

THink of it like this, Las tsummer, my broody hen got off the nest for about 2-3 hours, I am pretty sure the temp of the eggs dipped below 99, if not it was majic, so you should be fine.

Well for me, tomorrow night is lockdown - Sooo excited!

And with the bad news of only 2 out of 18 expected to hatch, they will be joined with the good news of us getting about 18 chicks to accompany them. Sooo hopefully we'll have 2 home-hatched Olive Eggers, 8 Ameraucanas, and 10 Black Copper Marans in one weekend! Aaaah chicks!

Regarding the downward pip, how do you know it won't just roll back over? That's why I have mine in egg carton cups starting on lockdown when I take them out of the turner, that way I'm reassured the air cell is up. Startedmy lockdown last night and when I talked and whistled to the eggs as I was taking them out of the turner, several of them 'kicked' just to say 'Hi mama!

I can't wait! The humidity has been pretty low most of the incubation, so we'll see how it goes.

update: 14 hrs after pip there was no progress made on little sc4. So i did the unthinkable, i helped it out a bit. As you can see there is some slight bleeding, nothing major, but enough to make me stop. He is responsive, vocal, and tries to move around. From the picture tho, it looks as if his head is curled back and tucked under his left wing. So im not sure how this little one is going to get out unless he is 100% helped by myself. It was so important these egg's hatched, i probably should not have touch it but from the way he has grown in the shell, i might be glad i did. Don't hate me guys!
