Lock down on Thursday, Hatch Sunday, down to 10 eggs, all look good, started with 12 , 3 are bantams......

Well, for the phoenixes, 3 definite movement, 2 movement but could be trick of my eyes and 2 no movement. As for the quail, 20 dark eggs and 4 clear still.


So 7 phoenixes and 20 quail in lockdown.

And now the wait begins.

Just curious...

There has been some staggered hatches, so I am a little lost. Who all is hatching this week and weekend. And whatcha hatching?

Thank you for responding. Today is hatch day. One egg has already hatched. The other (the one with the tiny air cell) has pipped at the correct end so I have hope he-she will be ok. It has been pipped for over 12 hours so I'm getting anxious.

How is egg #2 doing?

Our power was out for about 4 hours this morning so I'm hoping the chicks still make it. There are a 4 pips but they were there before the power outage.

How is egg #2 doing?

She hatched about 2 hours ago! So happy. I will post pics a little later. Thank you.

1 mutt (barn yard mix) is out. I see a tiny beak moving in another mutt so at least not every egg is lost from the lack of power. I think the first two mutts that pipped are goners though. I just have not seen any progress from them. I guess they could be really slow. My 4 RIR each have a tiny tiny pip but no zipping there yet. Since they are more valuable to me I'm not checking on the first two mutts until they hit the 24 hour pipping mark at least.

Off topic but I need to rehome a BLRW rooster if anyone is interested. I could clearly turn him into soup but he is heritage stock so slower growing meaning on the smaller side for 20 weeks.
