It's exciting, isn't it!

today is a good day so far for excitement. I have one egg pipping and 2 that are gently rocking. I have them standing in an egg carton so they won't be rolling into each other.

For the update, all 3 hatched and my next set goes into lockdown tomorrow night. I think I really like these staggered hatches.

Here is what I have been doing.............................

I now have 7 eggs in lockdown. It was a bit early but I wanted to be able to watch the hatcher and make sure the temps did not spike with the adding of the eggs.

I have some eggs pipping and of course lots of peeps when they get going.

Set 24 eggs late last night......
Still have plenty of room in the bator for V- hatch.......=)
Set English orps.buff orps and mix of purebreds from my layer flock with a BLRW roo..................
Lost everyone of my Silkies last hatch. The only ones I paid for............

Wouldn't you know it.....

I put 5 barred rock/speckled sussex cross eggs in the incubator two days ago and today I added one barred rock/cornish cross and one cornish and either speckled sussex or rir.

Hi, I have 7 mixed breed duck eggs that I just put in lock down and 14 mixed chicken eggs that I put in the other incubator. Wish me luck. The other duck hatches went smoothly so I am hoping to get some more of the cute little darlings.
