valley quail first time

Hello the chick is crazy its always chirping very loud and running very much just stop to sleep and then resumes :S it doesn t peck or drink what should i do the temp is fine i have 2 therm checking the temps OMG!!!!!

Is the temp set at 97 degrees? Dip that chicks beak in the water. And tap with your fingers at the feed like you are eating it. That will show it how to eat. Try picking it up and holding it. Maybe he is thirsty and hungry and does not know where to find the goods. Quail babies are notorious for being dumb. LOL Sometimes they get lonely and scared. You might also put in a small stuffed animal with it or even a small mirror so it can cuddle up to it if he is not interested in cuddling with his buddies.

I tried all the above and double checked temp its all ok he sleeps now

Don't be surprised if he calls to you all night long, like a crying baby. LOL They will do that.

Lol, this is great! You wanted to be a quail mum...and there you are, warming bottles and changing nappies!

Well done my friend, I am really glad you are now enduring the chirping of the little ones. What I can suggest you is to keep an eye on them to make sure you see them eating and drinking. As our fellow said, young quails are pretty but dumb! Another tip, if the quails are sleeping, do not wake them up or they will chirp until they drive you nuts

Hello good news they are calm and eating and drinking i think it was just stress from hatch lets see if they continue thanks for all!

Hello here they are


the one that chirps is the never sleep chick loool i have noticed that she has her feet dark since she was born is that normal?? i think she is mad or blood mixture i dont know she eats and drinks but is always chirping like che was calling her mom u can see in the pic that i have a flufy tiger and a cd but she doesn t care about them she only likes chirping and runnig :S

I am glad the babies are doing so well. I wouldn't worry about the chirping or the dark feet. Things seem to be going as planned. Keep up the good work on the baby raising! Keep us posted on their growth.

yes i now but is nerve racking right now is chirping the other 2 are fine thats y im so confused
