Valley quails and others

They are a lot different than button quail. Valley seem to be more flighty take longer to hatch longer to mature get to a much larger size and I think they are less hardy to raise than button quail.

buttons to valleys... thats a pretty big jump, a few things you are going to want to know... they require the brooders temperature to be kept up a lot longer than any of the other quail i have raised {bobs, valleys, gambels, bluescales, coturnix) their hatch rate is a lot lower. they are very weak cicks, require fine ground feed, fine sawdust {they will try and eat the big stuff and choke on it} and i highly recomend chick saver whn they first hatch, when incubating they must be kept at a STEADY 101 degrees for 23-24 days i lock down at 19 but i only jump my humidity to 50 percent they seem to have better luck that way i dont know why... they are very very hard to raise between 4-6 weeks and this is when you will want to start adding in finch seed for the vitamins. do all they and watch that temp and you should be fine... also not to repeat every other person on here but, use 30 percent gbs.

edited to add* the temp of 101 was for a still air incubator fyi
