Delighted to hear my optimism proved correct in this case. Are you keeping track of how many days she has been gone and do you have a rooster that would mean there is a likelihood of her being successful?

Can you set up a wildlife camera or a video camera? You might catch which area she comes out of, and at least be able to narrow your search.

One of my hens vanished. No signs of attack( feathers, etc.). I've checked all the bushes and trees. Any thoughts?

Fox, most likely. Where was she?

She is somewhere in my yard. I saw her the other day for a split second. I think she's just holed up with a nest of eggs that will never hatch. I haven't seen any fox around, but did see a coyote the other morning about 5 miles from here.

She's back. Apparently she's been camped out in the center of a very large hydrangea bush. She seems OK, We went on vacation and she showed the day we left. My nephew said she came out to eat quite often. She's been out for me quit a bit today. Thanks for all your suggestions and concern.
