Varmints Beware!!!!!

I went to the Spanish and French baby name sites and because Pyrs originate from the Pyrenees (duh) I named my full Pyr "ALVERO" which means "guardian of all". He is a blessing and a dear at 8 months. He was a rescue from National Pyr Rescue and was transported from TX with Rescue Road Trips. Check them out on Facebook. They create miracles weekly. Alvero is my second Pyr and because I am in the suburbs I can't let him off leash currently, as he is puppy-brainless. He is a big, strong dog, loves the chickens, especially my big Americauna Roo, Chili. Chili wallked under the truck with Alvero politely following behind him, and he rammed his head on the bumper because he wasn't looking up. Almost wet myself.Alvero sleeps in the hall, does frequent nighttime strolls (I can hear his feet sliding) and woe to the person who might ever enter my house without my permission.

Alvero is a good looking pup! My 2 1/2 year old boy told us our pups name is mouse! I don't know how that's gonna work. Imagine the look on a visitors face when we holler "Mouse, Mouse" and a 125lb dog shows up out of the bushes. I told him we would thing of another name and he said "no, it's Mouse". We will keep looking for that perfect name. He is a great pup.

My Komondor will only come to the name Puppy. He has an AKC name, and I was going to call him Cordy, but at the age of 11 he still will only come to the name Puppy.

I vote for Burl. It's a good strong name with great personality!

Cute pup. Oh and by the way one of my favorite names that I ever gave a dog was "Pup". I couldn't ever find a name that fit him so I called him that for a few weeks and it stuck. I thought it was unique....

My grandpa on one side names EVERY dog "Pup" and the one on the other side names EVERY pet (cats included) "Pedro"

My pets generally earn their names, or get called something silly based on their looks. Dusti is brown like dirt, and Tiger is well....striped, and Red (the roo) is a RIR.....See I got my creative genes from my grandpas!!!!!!!

CRAP!!!!!!!!!!! I thought that I was the first ever with the name Pup. Pup left for that kennel in the sky about 20 years ago but since it was your Grandpa who was the one naming his dogs that, it's my guess he beat me to it!! I guess great minds think alike...

My vet loved the name as well as all of his staff. He said that he keeps a file of favorite names owners have given their pets and that one went to the top of his list. I have never named another one of my dogs that but after this post it has brought back some great memories. It may be time to recycle it.
