Vaulted skull

It's her behavior that will tell you what's happening. If this is serious, it will have serious effects on her behavior. Watch for her to become lethargic, lose her appetite, lose her balance, and have trouble standing and walking. If those symptoms develop, then this is a brain issue and will likely get worse, not better.

She passed away last night. The swelling moved forward to her face. She became really odd looking in the eyes. Developed a red ring in her eye's. Not sure why she was so active before she passed on. We went to sleep and woke up around 3 am to check on her and she was gone.
Aw! Poor girl! I'm so sorry. Would you consider sending her in for a necropsy or performing a home one? It would be extremely helpful and educational for any others who may have the same future issue. It would be very interesting to see what was inside. If you do it, take lots of pictures. Again, very sorry you lost her. :hugs

I am so sorry to hear about your little bird. Those things are the worst part of having chickens... but it's impossible not to love them.

I could possibly get my husband to cut her head open to see I asked him if he could to help someone in the future. We buried her but we could get her back out to see. Where could we send her to have them study the brain or whatever had caused the issue?

Sorry haven't posted an update, I had some ducklings hatch and my hands have been full of Joy!
Update: we done a necropsy on her and she had so much fluid on her brain. It was a huge fluid sac underneath the skin. When we cut clear liquid went every where. Does any one know what would cause the fluid?
