That was one bad tofu. I am never eating veggie turkey again but will try everything else.
I've never tried Tofurky before so I don't know. And you must remember that it DOES depend on who's cooking it...My mom has been making meat-free meals for a long time so she has experience with cooking veggie "meat" and she's really good at it. But if it's your first time and you don't cook it right because you're used to cooking real meat, then it's not the actual product's fault. I wouldn't give up on the first time trying it. Research ways to make it tastier...Obviously, some won't taste good plain, so maybe you will have to experiment and see what flavors you can add and what you can combine it with to make it taste the way you want it. There are lots of recipes online. It just takes some practice and getting used to.
Also, some brands are not as good as others. I must agree that when I tried some different brands of veggie burgers, they were really nasty!
But others, such as the Boca Burger's Grillers' Prime type, are really good, especially when cooked on a grill with BBQ sauce.
I've been a Vegetarian all my life so I've had lots of experience with veggie "meat" and I really like it! There's almost nothing tastier than a veggie bacon, egg, cheese, and English muffin sandwich.
The person who fixed it cooks it all the time, so it was fixed by someone experienced.......she likes it fine, but I thought it tasted like poo.
