Vegetarian?

A friend of mine was telling me how gross vegetarian food was and stuff. We eat together at lunch and he was like "Yea I eat MEAT everyday." (waving his tofu burger around in my face) ahaa. He didn't know the school's hamburgers were vegetarian. He didn't believe me saying it didn't taste like vegtables.

I say whatever makes you feel good. I love my meat and veggies am healthy with an amazing immune system. I have friends that do great on a vegetarian diet. To each his own! This thread is getting off based though. I believe she was looking for others to try it out with her.

Don't have any deficiencies- but I always get a little chubby over the winter from all the carbs.

Yes. Being a female once you have a monthly cycle, your iron needs go up. Taking a once a day iron vitamin will stop your body from becomming anemic, otherwise the lack of iron effects your red blood cells. Thing to remember is iron pills can be toxic to young kids, so lock them up with the other meds, and take your vitamin at breakfast.

One thing I learned in school, anthropologists just like to argue. I don't know if people who like to argue are drawn into the field or if it turns them all that way.

I have been a semi-vegetarian (occasionally ate chicken, turkey, fish) for awhile but after seeing a video that a fellow byc'er sent me of chickens being tortured and treated inhumanely, I am going to go pescatarian and am considering a macrobiotic diet as well.

That's why we know exactly were the meat we buy is raised (some is our own) and how the whole process is. All of our meat came from animals within 30 miles of our house and all had wide open spaces with grass and were allowed to be animals. Contact your local extension office for a list of farms in your area if your interested.

But more than being a vegatarian, I was a locavore, and a raw food eater. I went close to a year without cooked foods. I was lean mean and you could see all the important bones in my body sticking out. Then I wanted to play sports ... hence the big mac's
