Vegetarians ( and Vegans ) Thread!!!

And I have no idea what it is.

It's fermented tofu, essentially. I am sure if it's made right I would like it - I only like tofu if someone else makes it as well. :)

Okay I finally tried it. I sauteed it with rainbow chard and pineapple. (it was coconut curry flavored tempeh from turtle farms)

I hate to say it but I really didnt like it. In fact, I disliked it so much that i threw out the entire dinner and had soup instead :/

I haven't been on BYC in awhile, but just saw this thread upon my return. I became a vegetarian last July. I didn't feel like it was a choice. It was more of a personal mandate. I don't tell others how to eat. I am not amused when people want to know when I will "get over this." I will develop a sense of humor. I will develop a sense of humor. Really. I will.

I have tons and tons of great vegetarian soup recipes from my days as the soup cook in a catering company. I also just recently discovered that "better than boullion" makes a chicken stock with no chicken in it. I bought it and maybe will make it tonight. we will see. For those who havent tried "better than bullion" stocks theyre really good. Its more like the stuff we used to use in the kitchen when boiling down our own stock wasnt really all that feasable. Its the best short cut in my opinion.

This morning I tried the morningstar sausage links. I chopped em up and scrambled them with eggs. They tasted nothing like sausage but still had A pretty alright flavor. I dont think they would taste that great on their own but they mixed well with the other things and i think theyd be good in breakfast potatoes too. Theyre only 2 ww points for two link. I also picked up a few other morningstar items to try. Corndogs, bbq ribs, and chicken patties. In case y'all havent noticed ive been into trying all of these things recently for lunch items to take to work. Ill still cook in the evenings but its nice to have these kinds of things on backup. They also provide me with just the right amount of ww points. Pasta and rice items have too many and stir fried veggies have too little.
