Vegetation, meatlover or dairy hater?

That won't happen if you seek out:

- small locally produced milk that is not mixed in with other dairy's milk

- drink milk from small herd healthy cows raised on clean pasture

- drink milk from herds raised without antibiotics

Cows raised on clean pasture, milked in a clean parlor, handled by small herd owners who truly care about the animals is a clean product.

Cows raised on mud, filthy pasture, in giant herds, milk mixed in with other dairy's, etc will always be milk that is required to be heat treated before human consumption because it will be filled with feces, blood, pus and other nasty bacteria and pathogens that will make you very ill.

Real milk from real cows raised on real pasture with real care = excellent quality clean milk that doesn't need to be pasteurized in order for you to drink it.

We only drink raw milk. It is awesome.

Also - I am a carnivore. Meat, milk and milk products, and eggs is my choice.

Yes, that's true, I am aware of that. But it's just as easy for me to drink soy or rice milk. I chose not to buy factory farm eggs for a long time, so now that I have my own spoiled chickens, I'm looking forward to their fresh eggs. I have a real problem with factory farm conditions regarding animal treatment and the products we consume as a result.

I like it all. We get raw milk straight from the cow that I am able to use for all sorts of dairy products. We still have a couple chickens left in the freezer from our last batch of meat birds and our steer should be ready for the butcher in another month or so. Produce either comes from our garden or the local farmers' market.

I guess I'm not as strange as I thought I was. Or at least I'm not as strange as my mom always told me I was, lol.

When I was very little, around 2 yrs old, I apparently swallowed bleach. Had my stomach pumped, but the damage was done. All my life since then I've had a sensitive stomach. I was never a big drinker anyway, but I cut out alcohol altogether because every time I drink more than like a shot glass full (depending on what the liquor is), I get horrible sharp pains in my stomach that have me doubled over. I'll be 35 next week and I now have so many stomach problems that it seems each year there are more and more foods and drinks that I have to cut out of my diet. It's not just heartburn either. Sometimes it's nausea, sometimes stomach pains, but often it's the heartburn. I've always been picky about my meat. I've all but eliminated pork from my diet. Occasionally I'll have bacon, but that's it. No other way. Call it phobias, but I just don't trust it. And I don't care much for the taste either. I do like beef though, but I eat it in moderation. Mostly I eat chicken and fish, but I'm SUPER picky about what fish I will eat. I don't like fish that have that "fishy" taste, no matter how they are prepared. So I only eat tilapia (tastes a lot like chicken and I like it a lot), and salmon. Mostly though, I eat chicken, and turkey when I can find it cheap. If my blood sugar wasn't low I'd probably be a vegetarian. But see, I have issues with that lifestyle too because I'm picky about what fruits and veggies that I can/will eat. I've had to cut all onion and garlic out of my diet, not that I cared for them before (I gag and vomit if I bite down on onion, my mother used to tell me it's all in my head, lol), but I can't have them in my food at all now. I like pepper, the seasoning you grind, not actual peppers, and I can't eat that anymore either. I have to watch how much citrus fruit I eat, how much oil I take in, etc. I have had to cut juices almost completely out of my diet too as they give me wicked heartburn. The only juice like thing I can drink now is the blue raspberry juice from Schwann's as it surprisingly doesn't give me heartburn! I drink Arizona Green Tea, water, and blue raspberry tea. I can't really drink black tea anymore, it gives me a burning in my stomach and esophagus that is very uncomfortable, so I stick to green teas, even when I make sun tea. Too much sugar gives me heartburn too. I do eat more fruit now than I did when I was younger. Lately it's been lots of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, pineapple, peaches, mangos, and strawberries. As for milk? It's for cooking, lol. I never really cared for the taste of milk. Downright hated it when I was a kid, but I can tolerate it now. I really only will drink it if I have a bad scratchy throat as it's the only thing that I can drink without gagging. However I am a cheese addict. I've had to be careful with my cheese intake too though as it causes heartburn too. I figure if I make it to 60 I'll be able to eat like a slice of bread and a piece of fruit, and that will be about it. You'd think that with my bad stomach I'd be skinnier. But no, I have a higher carb diet. I need to slow down on the carbs as they just help pack the weight on, and they mess with my stomach. And so I try to eat more protein and less carbs, but it's not easy when you're on a budget. I think some of the extra roos out in the coop are going to be dinner later this year. I just won't tell them that yet!

I'm a Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian. I used to love meat, but now when I try to eat it (especially red meat) it smells of de-comp. That kind of makes it easy not to eat it. lol I keep chickens for my own source of healthy and humane protien. I also just love chickens. I plan on getting some Nigerian Dairy goats next year for milk, and maybe in a few years a Miniature Jersey. I love dairy products, especially goat cheese. I eat a lot of mushrooms, especially portabellas. They are very steak-like in texture and savory flavor...at least how steak used to taste when I still ate it....Like i said, meat now tastes "off" to me.

Omnivore here... I try and listen to by body's cravings... but sometimes they get drowned out by the little devil screaming Twinkies.

Aversion wise... it's weird but I just don't like the thought of soy... donno why, can't recall actually eating tofu... but I just don't like the idea... may trace back to my soy formula days? Anywho, it's just one of those stubborn things. I'm not a fan of raw tomatoes either, but those I still try now and again just in case my tastes change.

I am the only vegetarian in my family. About twice a week we have strictly vegetarian meals. The rest of the week, I make certain to cook in such a way that I either have enough side dishes to make myself a meal or I plan a meal that can have both a meat and non meat alternative

For example, we will probably have fajitas in a few night. I will use chicken for my family's fajitas and will sauté some extra peppers, onions, and mushrooms for mine. I might add some black beans to mine also. Anyway, it isn't that much harder to do. Maybe you could do something similar.

Soy is not the answer for many people - especially women. If you have estrogen issues stay away from the soy. It will make you crazy with side effects.

chicken_china_mom I know how you feel, I have to be very careful with what I eat too, although I have no idea why I have issues. I was really colicy as a baby, as a kid was fine most of the time but every once in awhile something would bother me. In 2004 it really became a problem, I was totally nauseus for months straight, no idea why it just would never get better, was to the point where I planned my day around how bad I felt. Went to the doctor, got a prescription for Prilosec, after two weeks I was almost feeling normal again. I did a bit of reading, found out what foods I couldnt handle and the most likely cause of it (IBS). I cant drink milk or have it in cereal, I can handle it when cooking though, as well as cheese and ice cream. Caffiene is a huge no no my stomach just cant tolerate it, even a sip I suffer for hours from. Some peppermint I cant handle, anything really acidy I cant, tomato sauces need to have sugar or else I sometimes burn from them too. Different foods bother me certain ways, fruit juices I cant tolerate, orange juice is like drinking fire, apple juice I just get plain nausous from, I have to really limit my fried food or I pay for it big too. Alchohal suprisingly doesnt bother me much, I am more affected by the sugar in whatever I've mixed it with, or the cheap super sugared wine. I have to limit anything super fatter or sugary too. Beef if not cooked the right way can bother me too. I've found that stress makes it worse too, which means I've got medical reasons to keep myself happy and relaxed as well as being forced to eat healthy, so its not totally bad

What I find amazing is that even when I didnt know what was happening my body new, the sound of the foods I couldnt handle I just got turned off to.

I love meat, fish, seafood, (hate steak), love poultry, pork, ham, deer, all meat except beef. I love fruit. I love cheese, bread, ice cream, yogurt, but hate milk. I hate most all vegetables. Very few will I eat. I do love my chocolate, raspberries, cherries, fruity candies, oatmeal cookies (but hate oatmeal). Yes I'm weird.
