Venison....

Nothing yet, I get my German hunting license in a couple weeks and plan on spending the new year in the woods. Hogs will be the main target right now but Roe deer and fox will also be on the list. Good luck everyone.

6 so far this year.
3 does with bow. one early muzzleloader, and a 9 pnt, and doe opening day on 27 Nov.

I don't want to sound greedy, or a "pleasure hunter", I eat all I shoot, and feed 3 families for most of year. Venison is a hot commody around my clan. Brother also got 2 does modern firearm, so he won't need much from me this year. But I enjoy being able to give some "older" family members some wonderful TRUE organic meat. It is a blessing for me.

Dogfish---nice piece, and a great caliber....I love my springfield FN-FAL in .308. makes a pretty darn good deer gun....and I get some looks coming out of the woods to!!!!!!! I usually get asked when did they start arming the deer...LOL....

Nice body count! Here in Washington we are essentially allowed 1 deer and 1 elk per year. There are a few opportunities for second tags for each, but they are limited. Having 2 boys and myself, we are able to fill a freezer nicely. Last year we had 4 deer and a 900lb elk.

An FAL is on my "WANT" list.

Pennsylvania has gotten very strict too. One buck a year. Doe only if you send in for tags months before hunting season.

In Ohio you can limit out in each county, so you could tag a couple hundred deer if you wanted to. Most of sounthern Ohio is all 6 deer counties, then becoming 4, and 2 deer counties as you work north depending on the deer population. But they have a max 1 buck per year rule. It's kinda confusing how they do it, they are actually 3, 2, and 1 deer counties but you can double the limit in bow season before the gun season starts. We usually have a state wide population of around 700,000, and harvest in the 250,000 range each year. The ODNR have all the harvest info on there website which is kinda cool. We are also a no rifle state though. It's bow & crossbow for all of bow season, and shotgun, handgun or muzzleloader for a select week, or weekends.

In michigan I can shoot 2 bucks 1 has to be at least 8 pts. and 1 doe per county. My family owns a whitetail deer farm so we butcher 45- 60 does a year. plus scrub bucks, old bucks, and the "killers".

Here in Maryland, the state is split into 2 zones. The mountians, and everything else. The mountians are really restricted. but the rest of the state the sky is the limit. If you hunt all 3 seasons (bow, muzzleloader, and modern) you are legally allowed 36 deer 6 of which can be bucks. But with a bow in the 5 central counties (where I happen to be) it is literally UNLIMITED for does. The laws are if you harvest a buck (anything over a 3" single tine) you have to harvest 2 does before you can tag a second buck.

I ran into a bunch of PA guys this year, and ya'll laws sound tough....now I know why they were in MD.

We do all of our own processing, but what the heck do you do with 900 lbs of dead elk???LOL....I guess just get to cutting and packing.

I hunt a couple private farms, but the majority of hunts are public land, which translates to get to walking. No off roading, no 4 wheeler, just get to draggin.

I got the perfect Button Buck this year. I had him skinned and quartered in salty icewater within an hour of this pic:

I still have muzzleloading season coming up.
