Hi,
We have a ~5yo Andalusian or Minorca hen that has a severe case of vent gleet. It has been going on now for months because I have been away at university and haven’t had the chance to see what was going on (my parents are pretty useless when it comes to actively finding care/treatments). We have applied clotrimazole cream to the vent every 48h for the past week-week and a half, but she only seems to be getting worse. She will eat treats, but is otherwise lethargic and won’t move much. We are considering fluconazole now. The dosage is 5-15mg/kg, but how often? Once a day? I saw other articles saying that it may not be fungal, but we are hesitant to do more than one treatment at once because of the possible side effects. However, is there anything else that should be done at the same time we try the fluconazole, besides the antifungal cream? Thanks!
@casportpony I’m tagging you because it seems based on other threads like you know this stuff pretty well.
