Vent Gleet untreated?

Thank you everyone for your help. I am going to try your advice, best I can. I will try to have my daughter help me get a better photo today. Do you think I should just soak her or try to spray the wound. It looks so bad, but I hate to kill anything that is fighting and has a chance!! My husband was mostly concerned because if we did say peroxide, it looks like it could go internal to her....? Thank you for understanding and helping. Will keep you updated for sure.

Soak her bottom in warm soapy water with dish washing liquid if you can't get betadine, hibiclens, or epsom salts, and you will need to clean her off. You need to soak it in case there are maggots, since they will fall of in the warm water. This should be done once a day until she smells better and is starting to heal. When you dry her off, put some plain Neosporin ointment on it.

I soaked her and cleaned the area. Poured peroxide on it and then neosporin. I am hopeful today it didn't look so bad to me. I had my daughter take a photo, but photography will not be her profession.

It does, but not horribly. It looks better than when I discovered it. I did the best I could hopefully without hurting her. Hhhmmm it's tough to explain. It almost looks like at about her tail it ripped backwards. But I'd say a few inches. It's deep at one point then almost looks torn back. Like someone ripped it back away from her body. She sure seems happy. Except she wants outside.

Keep her indoors, flies would love to get to her. Continue to clean her wound every day, don't use peroxide anymore though. Peroxide will damag freshly healed skin. This wound needs to heal from the inside out, so if it scans over, you will need to remove the scab daily. You are doing a good job!

Omg so clean the scan off? Scan isn't good? Ok I got it! No peroxide but yes neosporin every day?
