Vent Gleet?

Hey there! Having a similar issue with my girl. Just yellow/green poop stuck to her vent. She’s 4. Eating/drinking/active as far as I’ve noticed. I tried to wipe her feathers and freshen her up a bit this afternoon. Now she’s just mad lol. Is this looking like vent gleet or just runny poop? All the droppings smelled strongly of ammonia.. is adding ACV or probiotics to water this best plan of action? She’s kinda been like this for the last week or so, but her feathers seem extremely matted to her behind which is why I went to clean it today.

We are still having the same issue. From what I've learned vent gleet it white drainage, not green. So I'm thinking we have an infection.

Slight update:

Noticed that the droppings from her behind are significantly less. Now she is just acting like she may be uncomfortable? Still out free ranging with the others, but seems to have her neck tucked in and puffed out appearance. There was one dropping on the roosting bar where she usually stays that looked a bit suspect, but nothing more. Not sure how much she’s drinking but she seems to still be eating. Anything else to worry about?

She could be egg bound. Have you tried an Epsom salt bath?

She could be I guess.. I would just expect her to be more lethargic if that was the case. We are going to just keep an eye out. I will try an epsom salt bath later if she still looks uncomfy.. what are some other signs of being egg bound?

Weakness, not moving much, panting, uncomfortable.

She may be having some reproductive issues.
I'd try getting some extra Calcium into her to see if that will help. You can find Calcium Citrate with D3 in the vitamin aisle of stores like Walmart, CVS, etc. Just pull down on her wattles, pop the tablet in and let her swallow.
It's very important to get her hydrated. See if she will drink on her own if you hold a cup up to her beak. If not, then you may need to syringe or tube fluids into her.
wow I had no idea they would be ok to swallow a pill like that. been doing this a few years and really learn every day! I pull the waddled and fed her crumbled coconut oil with the crushed vitamin.. very messy and didn't get the whole pill in of course
thank you

I have. Now I'm wondering about impacted crop. I'm going to check her crop first thing in the morning to see if it's impacted.
Have you tried monostat? Baths aren't going to help this. What's her crop feel like? Usually a problem like this indicates an issue farther up.
Hi, I have a hen that I am very sure based on the research has gleet. Her feathers at the bottom have been entangled with what appears to be white liquid. I washed her and put nu stock on as she is now completely bald down there. This runny poop thing has been going on a while . I didn’t know about gleet then and treated for coccidiosis the whole flock. I quarantined her now (has been two days) with another gal that I am treating successfully for sour crop with Monistat. I am doing 2 milliliters approximately @ 4% a.m., and p.m. I will do for 7 days. She is coming around has emptied and ate mash and hard boiled egg today.

You mentioned monistat for gleet. I rubbed it on around vent. Will it help to give it orally to this hen as well?
