Vent Gleet

So if I DID eat the eggs it probably wouldn't be catastophic?
I'd say you'd be pretty safe if you don't have any drug allergies, but always best to double check with your doctor.

I'm allergic to morphine, I doubt that's in wormer :)
That's where I'm running into trouble with the dosing. I think I saw some directions on here somewhere, I will look around. I don't want to overdose anyone.

It will be almost impossible to overdose them. You're more likley to underdose them (most people do). Can you guess their weights? I'm very OCD about proper dosing, but that's because I have to worm birds that weigh just a few ounces up to 30 pound turkeys. Your larger girls should get no less than 0.5ml, probably more, and I would do that for 3-5 days, especially to the one with gleet. A single day dose of Safeguard will *not* treat many worms, so 3-5 is better.

Ok, that's what I will do. Now I have to dig out a syringe. And I think tomorrow I'm going to have to bring the nasty butt girls into the house for a bath. Stupid weather.

FYI, I have a couple hens with gleet that I'm going to start treatment on tomorrow. Both will get weighed and both will be given Safeguard for five days.

I gave my first dose of Safeguard yesterday, and it sure made for a lot of poop this morning, so I figure that means its working. And one of my girls who hadn't laid an egg for awhile had a soft one, so maybe she's feeling a bit better? Will dose them today and tomorrow too.

Ok I think they are definitely feeling perkier, they were crazy loud today! And my leghorn laid an egg for the first time in 10 days. Thanks for all the help!!!!
