Vent.. neighbor doesn't want my chickens on her back lawn.

I don't mind keeping them over here. It's just that she told me they don't want a fence up. Part of their dog run is on my lawn. The oven MOW part of our field and even use that part during the summer.
They even put their old dumpster in part of our field a few years ago. I never said a word because I tried to keep the peace.

It's not a matter of being rude. Put a fence up, and contain your animals - and kids. If she doesn't want them on her property, then do what you have to do to make that happen. If she doesn't like the fence, tough luck - it's none of her business, really, as long as the fence is within your property lines. I'm rather puzzled about the whole situation, it seems there's something being left out. Why pick fights with your neighbor (ugly fence, roosters, etc). Just close your property up and be done with it. If she's got problems, they're hers, don't make them yours.

Put the shoe on the other foot.

How would you feel if their dog came over and killed your chickens.

You need to keep your dog and your chickens on your place. No reason others should have to put up with your animals running on their yard.

Yah, I think we are going the fence route. Which we don't mind doing. It's going to be too bad that they are going to be boxed in when we have to put a fence all around their property. It's honestly going to look odd. We own 28 acres around them. Their 1 acre is a square piece taken out of our property.

I agree. It's just that for years we have let their kids play on our property and let their dog run be on our lawn. Before their dog got old he used to come over here and we never complained.

Oh there is nothing being left out. They just had a new house built after living in a mobile home. That could be part of it. I think she is mad because I told her boys to stay off my FRONT LAWN (not the back I am ok with them riding down on the back lawn). I think she got all wound up about that. I have NEVER let my kids ride their go kart on their FRONT lawn. I think that's wrong.

but if ya dont want neighbors on the other sides to start, do your property lines.

It does really stink when things like this happen, but honestly a good fence would have likely prevented a lot of the hard feelings that are now happening.

We have a similar situation on our 35 acres, and the new neighbors (who have just a couple acres) seemed miffed at the time that we wanted a good fence between us. But our livestock have never trampled their lawn or garden, and I am really glad... I know it has prevented a lot of headaches.

Just put up a fence and get it over with. It will be a good thing in the long run.
