Hello all! So, I'm gonna describe this as best I can and try to get some pics up as I have no idea what this is. I have a silkie chick(about 4 weeks old)--his/her vent has a yellow interior type of coating, but it doesn't come off and if I press at all on the vent(which I'm very gentle about doing), the yellow thing pops out. It's very strange and i have never seen this on a silkie. I noticed today dried poo on it with a little blood. Not sure what to do about it and I don't want to lost it. I'll go get some pics and update this in a minute!! Please, any help would be SO much appreciated!! Thanks SO much!!!

sounds like a male chick that has a prolapse of its sexual gland

use some preparation H on it and poke it back in
just as females have prolapses the male can have it also

but with pictures some one else can help you

email me any questions
