Vent problems. Need some advice

Well I guess if I helped a goat give birth I can get this done! Wish me luck! It looks kind of bumpy but not like anybody has pecked at it. Thank you guys for the advice I never would've thought of prolapsed because I've never heard of it

My daughter does not have the strength to hold her still. She's a tough cookie and super upset to be away from the others. My husband doesn't get home till 2:30 or so. We she be ok? Hers doesn't look as smooth as the pics I've seen. But she did poop..small but she did

Prep H worked for my hen when she had a prolapse. I've never tried honey. Gently clean her bottom and make sure you're getting at least a little inside her vent as well as outside, twice a day if you can. It took my hen's prolapse about a week to shrink enough that she stopped pushing any of it back out and she fully recovered. I did withhold food for 24 hrs. and put her in a dark area for a couple of days to interrupt her laying cycle. I think it gave her the break she needed. Good luck, and keep us posted on how things are going.

The main thing seems to be keeping it clean, keeping it from drying out. She will be bummed and a bit stressed, and probably have stress poops, but she will likely be ok. If you notice lots of blood or pus, or there's no reduction in the swelling after 3 days then you might want to look into other treatment options.
