Vent prolapse in 2 yr old hen.....Urgent

It's never good for an egg to get stuck. I think it's just taking longer if it's another soft egg. But goo that the prolapse is staying a little longer. That's how it generally heals and eventually stays in place. Do you know for sure if she is an every day layer?
I don't know for sure but I see her in the nesting box quite often:)

Can you feel inside to see if you can feel an egg? Very gently in case it's a soft egg. You can insert your finger past the vent. I've gone in about 1.5 to 2 inches which it about to my 2nd index finger joint. Use a big blob of vaseline in the end of your finger to get some vaseline inside. It you can feel the egg try o get some vaseline or KY raound the egg if possibe.

You may also feel some other material, sometimes hardened poop that you can drag out with your finger.

Did you try the warm epsom salt soak? Or if you don't want to do that possibly place her on a heating pad on a moderate setting to help her muscle relax so the egg can pass.

How will I insert my finger in there if her cloaca is out??
I did try to put her in the bath but she would just not let me or calm down. At the time I didn't want to cause her any more stress than she already had...I could try the heating pad but I'm worried that she won't tolerate it...
Thanks for all the suggestions, I will let you know later how it went.

Haven't you already been pushing the prolapse back in? You said you had been doing that but it wouldn't stay in.
So just do that and go in a little farther to feel for an egg. You won't hurt her.
She had about 1 tablet, but she is refusing to eat more. I think her crop is full so she doesn't want to eat anymore.
You have to make her take it.
Open her beak by gently pulling down on her wattles. Put the pill in as far back as it will go.

Or, hold her under your arm. Use a thumbnail to open her beak and put the pill in as far back as it will go. Don't let her spit it out.

The longest a hen of mine took to resolve a prolapse was nine days. I tubed food and water into her to keep her going through the long crisis. She made it. When she finally passed something, it wasn't a second egg. It was some tissue that had accumulated in her oviduct.

And yes, once a hen has suffered prolapse, she will likely have it again at some point.

I just now tried to put her in the bath, chilled there for about 20 seconds and flew out. Kept trying to push the darn prolapse thing back in but it wouldn't go in, I don't want to be pushing and prodding making it worse.
