Vent sexing ducklings?

There are a lot of videos around. You can find one on google. But it takes practice. I myself can't do it. You can probably keep all males but any 2 or more males together with females are tricky. Most say you need at least 3-4 females per male, the more the better.

there are lots of YouTube videos on how to do it but it's tricky and to minimize damage to the ducklings you're supposed to do a day or 2 after they are born (according to the online info I've seen). I tried it last year after my hatching and was not successful at all. Unless you've got great eyes you better have a magnifying glass and someone to hold it for you!

You can vent sex ducklings at a day or two old. However, there is the possibility that if you do it wrong, you can hurt the ducklings, so be aware. There are videos out there that you can watch to learn how to do it. Metzer Farms has a pretty good one. As with all things, it takes practice, and you won't be 100% accurate when you start out - or maybe not ever, lol. Even hatchery sexers make mistakes.

I thought we were talking about chickens regarding determining the sexing instead of ducks. Venting seems to be the way. You Tube has great information!
Wing clarification is with chickens, venting looks maybe dangerous for my ducklings to do myself
