I have mixed feelings about being pooped on that range from "Whoo! It's a girl!" to "Aw man...this is kinda gross..."

My quail are young only 14 days old but I think I have alot of males because even when they were a few days old I have alot of them stand up on there toes and stretch out and call. In my past experience with grown quail, those were boys. Will be a few weeks for me to see the foam on these so I was just wondering what yall think?

If it's the male call then they're males. Band or separate them if you want to save some time.

If it _isn't_ a male call, then possibly not. There is a loud cricket-like call that the girls will make while standing on their tip-toes. I'm still not sure what that call is for.

Note to self: Wear latex gloves for this one.

I'm not particularly squeamish, but I stuck my hand into enough globs of poo the other day that I'd rather not repeat the experience immediately. Once it's dried out, I don't care...

It isn't too bad. After a while you figure out how to hold them so that nothing gets on you, and if it does you can usually flick it off.

Unless you have a girl with an upset stomach. Then you're screwed.

Still, I'd rather be pooped on and have everyone sexed in a few minutes than alternate between sitting-staring and lunging out of the chair to grab whoever just warbled.

Na, I'd rather sit on my chair and chill out with my birds. I have time now, but some don't.

I usually don't sex them until the girls start laying. Then its breeding pen time and I'm talking browns anyway. We'll see what I decide to do with the baby Whites when the time comes.

Do British range(Tibetan) females have speckles on their breasts? I've been trying to sex them for a while now. I got an egg yesterday, but I think it's from the Brown Female in their pen.

British Ranges shouldn't have speckles on their chest. The females and males look the same.
