Ventilation for winter

? Also not sure about the nesting boxes although they are already laying eggs in them the way they are but I'm wondering if I should put them up more like the one on the crates off the floor for the winter
 
Yes, knowing something about your climate would help, and knowing something about how the insides are laid out (height of roosts and clearance above specifically). But in general, summer or winter, I'd probably remove that top 4" you put in and replace it with hardware cloth for predator protection. High ventilation like that is good in winter and summer. But there might be cross breeze problems if the roosts are right up against the ceiling.

I added pics. Roosting poles are just 3 or 4 ft from floor and ceiling. You think I should take the woods ceiling I put up down and just put cloth there instead?
