I have been noticing lots of people have been asking about ways to ventilate, but usually weather gets in the way. Well I didn’t realize my idea was as useful as I thought until somebody pointed it out to me. So I decided, why not share it with everybody? So when I was building our coop, we heard about ventilation and left a part entirely open on the coop, but then remembered rain, wind, and snow. So we went to Menards and found this white stuff (forgot what it’s called) and slid it under the shingles. It worked perfectly for the first big rainfall. My pullets were happy and dry when I checked on them later. You can use the link on my profile to my full coop but here is a close up of what I mean. Please let me know if you have any more questions!

Looks like drip edge. Roofers use this at the end of shingles and above the eave to prevent cracking of the shingles. This is a good idea. Thanks for sharing!
