Hey guys! I have my coop in 1/3 of my screened porch, that I mostly stay in. It's starting the time to plastic of my screens, so I'm wondering what would be better.

In preface, the coop is 8x12', with the screened in area of,(at the moment), of 4x28, so they have plenty of ventilation now.

The question is if I plastic they way I usually do, they'd still have about 3' of out side air, with another 16x12 of open space. Would that work? Bear in mind, I stay out here for the most part, so keep it pretty clean. Oh, I have 21 chickens, mostly layers.

Here ya go

I'm having trouble seeing the photos clearly on this screen.

Are you leaving space at the top open to vent the lighter-than-air ammonia?
I'm trying to figure that out. If I do that, my 21 hens will have 16 sqft, but I will cover up the front totally. If I close all the screens, they will only have about 3sqft, but would be open to the other 16x12 porch.

Getting rid of the ammonia is really critical.

Birds have extremely delicate respiratory systems -- the canary in the coal mine thing.
