Venting the Coop

Depends on the coop. The best is to open it up enough for a good cross breeze especially in the hot weather.

Welcome to BYC!!

If you upload a photo of your coop we can certainly help you figure out the best location to add vents and easiest way to do that.
Yes, this^^^...several pics, both inside and out.

...and please add your general geographical location to your profile.
it's easy to do, then it's always there!

Here is our cross-ventilation venting as @oldhenlikesdogs mentioned: We have a door on the coop now, but decided to open up the eaves and sides (covered in HWC) and it is working really well so far. We can cover the sides up some or all in the winter, depending on temps. There is also a window in the wall facing east, but we only keep it open an inch or two. The bottom pics show the birds on the roost just below the opening.
