venturing out of box (new to forum)

Hey there, here is a little info on me. I know enough about poultry to realize if they are sick or not, but not enough to diagnose.
At the moment I have no poultry, though I am interested in raising quail.
Since being laid off as an electrician I have tried a few different self employment ideas to no avail. I live a fair distance from Nashville, but still close enough that I could sell my produce. I have visited a couple quail breeders, OMG!, I was not impressed. Looked like puppy mills! I happened upon your forum looking for set up ideas that I could marry together to form something viable for me.
My home is populated at the moment with a labrador, a pirneese, and 3 cats and of course myself.
