I have been raising worms for my garden for a couple of years and love it. I spoil my worms by giving them lots of spoiled fruits and veggies...and am rewarded with lots of worm castings. Also like the fact that they are low-maintenance, (feed them and add moist bedding once a week). However, last week I varied from my normal practices and had a bag of uncooked egg noodles in with my basket of fruits and veggies and thought "what-the-heck" and dumped them into my worm bin with the rest of their food. Come back a week later to add more food....all my worms are dead. The worm bin was hotter than my compost piles get. Vermiposting takes place in cool environments not HOT. I can't believe I killed all my worms. Uncooked Egg Noodles are the only thing I did different. So....A word of advice...cooked noodles are probably ok, but I would avoid uncooked. I personally am going back to strictly fruit and veggies. No processed food, no dairy, no moldy breads. POOR WORMS. back to sq.1
