Very bad frostbite on a hen

I know that bag balm works great as a preventative measure, but I am not sure how well it works at combating current infections. If I were in your situation, what I would use instead was a triple antibiotic ointment. That way, it will still work to prevent water from freezing and thawing directly on top of the wattles and combs, and it will also prevent further infection, therefore aiding in the healing process.
