Very delayed new thread alerts

I'm subscribed to forums to get alerts when a new thread is posted in the associated forum. I know how this system is supposed to work. It worked perfectly before 2/20, didn't work between 2/30 and 3/6 and hasn't worked since 3/6. I consistently get alerts now for threads started up to an hour before the alert sent. Here is the latest example. Alert popup shown for thread in the background.

I get missed alerts for some forums too. Might be the volume and the system can’t keep up.

I'm always logged in. Internet is fine
I am using a new browser, though. Adblock browser.

Why would it stop alerts? Casport tested it with me and it worked then

No clue it's just been stated numerous times that adblock messes with certain things here on BYC.

Adblock has interfered with other things so it doesn't seem odd to me.
I'll look for the specific posts about adblock stuff asap.

Ad blockers work by blocking elements that contain ads from loading. Occasionally it will block other elements and that can cause problems, but I'm not really sure how that could mess with the alert system.
