Same here. I started bugging my wife about keeping chickens 10 years ago.
I started building the coop out in the shop and I could see she had her doubts, and she could see I was getting birds. She wasn't all that happy about it.
I brought the chicks home and set them up in my tool crib for a couple weeks until they were ready to go outside. The first time she saw them she let out the 'ol "Awwwwwwwwwwwww".
It sounds like most of us have a spouse who needed "convinced". I didn't even ask my husband...I just gave my daughter permission to bring them home from school. I got a lot of complaining
But now..........he feeds them treats and helped me put a new roost in the coop. I even drug him to a swap meet.
I've been around this lovely young lady for approx 23 years. I know how to make a sale. Notice that I didn't bring them home at 7-8 am. A morning person, she is not.

They all had names 10 minutes later.
Mrs. Grumpypants was no match.
Very similar situation. I just started wandering around the house at odd times and yelling CHICKENS back and forth with my son. She thought we were funny at first. Then she realized that this might just come to fruition. She then kinda went quiet on our banter. However she resigned herself to the fact that the fowlboys would soon show up with the winged beasts.
AND WE DID!
Begrudgingly she'll admit (one of these day) I hope, that she is glad that we made the right choice for her.
I am glad you got her to come around! What a great story! My hubby thought I was nuts but to indulge me he took me to pick them out and built them a chicken palace! Before long he was watching chicken TV too! Now he is an enabler. At first he said 12. We have 21! Then he said no more and no hatching! Well guess what! Now he says we need a bator! He also helped name the last batch! However the other day when he walked around the tree and saw me sitting on the swing holding a silkie.... he said, you are insane huh?!
