It's the converts that cause the additions to the originally small functional coop nearly every time. Our mistake when laying out the chicken area was that the run could not be seen easily because it was blocked on 3 sides by garage, wood shed, and coop. For security reasons this was great, but DH complained one day that what we really needed was a lounge area for ourselves to sit and watch them comfortably so a new run would need to be put up that could be seen from the picnic table, swing and patio area. All my logistical planning to keep them out of his way and he ended up wanting them right in the middle of the yard. On the good side, I can now rotate them so that neither is overly torn up.
