Great story, isn't wonderful how some feathers, beeks, and funny antics can warm our human hearts so deeply. People look at me cross eyed when I tell them that they have these charming, endearing personalities. They give so much more than just eggs.

newchicks,

You aren't just whistling Dixie....I didn't get these girls for the eggs. I needed something that my son and I could hang around, observe and have conversation. The eggs are an added benefit. As it turns out Sissy seems to be enjoying them as much as the fowlboys do. They are very rewarding little "people" indeed.

Happy to be owned by some seggsy girls.

I get a kick out of going to work and telling my co-workers what my chickens do, and taking pictures to show them. It's fun to watch them look at me like I've grown feathers. My 30 year old daughter thought Mom had finally lost it, but the other day she was out looking for eggs, and giving them treats. The girls loved her red painted toe nails, that was what I thought was funny.

Same here...I have been telling all of my co-workers about my be-u-tee-fulll girls all day today. They are bringing a lot of joy to our household.

Neighbors are already fascinated by them as well. Their grandaughter came over with treats this afternoon. I wish we had gotten them sooner.

They were raised in a small coop and now reside in a 1/4 acre fenced yard. They are in Heaven and we get to watch. Can't get much better than that IMHO.

Lucky chickens to know what it's like to have the freedom to roam in your space. Happy happy chickens I'm sure. Ours have 2 acres they roam in, they haven't discovered the other 6 acres, and I hope they don't, I'll never find their eggs. Our neighbors are talking about getting some chickens too, but they want to come and try out their 1 yr. old dog on our chickens to see if he'll get along with them...I don't think soooo!!!! My girls are too precious, and beeeuutifuuulll too!!

We are SLOWLY introducing our poodle/schnauzer mix. It went very chaotic tonight, but we love them all so we will make it work. He went a little crazy right out of the door, but I think Lorraine (RIR) will get his mind right. She is definitely not a pushover.

Been fun chatting....Coop time for me
