Very gruesome discovery, very sad. Any ideas?

*ulp*...seeing their sweet faces makes it so much harder....Did you see momma lately? Has she come back? Please let us know how it goes... I wish you the best.

I would say tomcat! I've had a litter with all their heads removed before. I had a tomcat once, when I was young, that killed every kitten and every grown tomcat in the vicinity. Its a territory thing. Nature's way of eliminating any male competition. If it were rats, I would say they would work into your bag of cat food....same with possums or a coon.

Mamma is ok. She came to the house last night when I put the chickens to bed so I let her in. I thought yesterday was hard but...
I found Yoda dead just now. I think I may have missed him when I checked the kitty house yesterday. I am not sure . I don't know how I could have. I moved the few things that are in there and used a flashlite to check rafters, corners and such. I went back several times in case he was hiding somewhere and didn't see or hear anything. Now something told me to check this morning and there he was dead. Just like the others. Not eaten, just killed with a bite to the head. Such a pretty kitty, so sweet, its such a shame. I feel SO giulty that I didnt find him yesterday. He obviously survived the first attack. The only other thing I can think of is maybe Mamma was able to get him out of there and then he wandered back in last night to find her. I had left the door open. So now I feel worse. On a good note though my hubby rescued a 3 week old kitten on saturday. He found her out in a field, she was really sick and skinny. He had her behind his back when he walked in from work. I thought oh he brought me flowers, nope! This was even better! We named her Lilly as that is my favorite flower. She has a few problems yet but she is getting stronger every day. I took her to the vet, he said to just keep up what we are doing and he sprayed her for bugs. So that is a positive, and she is going camping with us this weekend because I have to hand feed her. Thanks to all of you, you don't know how much all of your kind words mean to me.

Set a trap and see what you catch. I would bet a tomcat if none of them were eaten. He just killed to contol the competition in his territory.

I am not a cat person but I do have a cat named Johhny Cash and if something happened to Cash then I would kill everything in the neighborhood capable of hurting him. Guilty or not.

It really crawls under my skin that they were kittens. I hate to see something bad happen to babies.

I hope you catch the culprit.
