Very large saddle aircell, day 24 duck eggs.

Hi WolfGirlMagic, how’s your hatch going?
So far I have 5 of 11 that are showing signs of activity. 2 pipped externally properly (one of the ones that did properly is the saddle cell I was originally worried about!). Two are breach. One has been rocking. Bruised shell has been quite :/
The first breach to pip has started knocking away at the shell and made a little progress, but it looks like it is zipping the long way! From tip to air cell instead of around.

Saddle cell is hatching!!!!!!
He lirlitera zipped in a matter of just 5 minutes!
Now he is trying to push.
So excited because I haven't ER been awake to see one hatching on its own!

So I'm probably going to have to assist the first breach...
The membrane is very dark brown.
The blood vessels have receeded from what I can see...
I see something yellow grey that is oozy that I think poo? I hope. Yikes!
O

So,
The chick is very week.
It was a very tangled up malposition
And I think it broke the yolk sac a long while before I helped.
I plan to put silver sulfiadide on the umbilical area to maybe stop an infection.
Let it lick at a little sugar water for strength.
Now its in the Bator.
Wait and see!

6 babies have successfully hatched.
Two are externally pipped.
One egg started smelling so I took it out... Apperantly my crested female layed in my standards nest so we got a fatal crested.:(
That eggtopsy was very interesting.
Two other eggs are not showing any signs of life, so likely they are also fatal cresteds.
We will find out!
