Very loud chickens.

Every morning they have very loud clucking spells when nothing is wrong. For the hours from about 8-12 they freak out for no reason. We don’t know why they do it, but it’s very obnoxious and we don’t want neighbors to complain. How can we get our hens to calm down?

Are they laying pullets?
That may be the time of day when various birds are laying eggs and start up the egg song.

Yes mine make a lot of noise during that time frame they are laying eggs the roosters join in it’s quite the commotion

They have the entire backyard to themselves. If there IS anything wrong it’s just a crow flew over or something.

3 of them are 2 years old and one of them is a laying pullet.

Overhead hawks, snakes, rats, opossums, raccoons, bobcats, dogs. Or just general cussedness. Mine are usually pretty quiet except when laying. If they “freak out” I can guess that one of the above spooked them.
