Well, actually since I began hanging out in the Predator and Pest section of the forums I have been thinking about it. A lot. I have an outdoor barn cat. His sole purpose is to hunt and kill the mice and shrews that we have an abundance of. He has a name, a warm place to sleep, fresh food and water and a job to do. I'm honestly glad our neighbors don't keep chickens because he would be a predator and we would have to get rid of him.
I honestly believe that if a neighbor had to kill our cat because he had attacked their chickens I would not have a problem with that. I would prefer a warning so I could do something about the cat myself. (My cat = My problem). But I am a firm believer in a person protecting their property. I would get rid of my cat and switch to mousetraps before I would put my neighbors in a position where they would resort to SSS.
