Hello everyone I am very new to byc and incubating eggs,
My eggs have been in the incubator for 16 days now I turn them 3 times a day, we have a brinsea polyhatch incubator which was given to me by a very good family friend of my boyfriend who is practically a chicken expert and had alot of success with the incubator.
The only instructions he gave me was to turn the eggs 3 times a day and make sure them temp is 37.5 which I have followed, now I have been hearing lots of different things on the internet for example 'in the last 5 days dont turn the eggs' and 'put water in the incubator for humidity'.
Can anyone just clear this up for me as Im very worried about my eggs, thankyou x

whoa whoa whoa whoa so u have no water for humidty in the bator???????? humidty is must or ur egg will evaporate! candle them and post pics to see if there has been any damage amd if ur in a still air bator heat is ok or u could go till 38 for a early hatch and if u have a fan temp should be 37 and stop turning at day 18 and lock down them and dont open the bator till they hatch

no body told u maybe cuz that article was by an eggspert and every person who has incubated knows humidty is a must temperature and humidty control the hole proccess even without one incubation could go to a 0 percent hatch rate but hey maybe ur location has a high humidty might save them ! now what u can do too minimize any furthur damage is put a tray not a bowl more thr surface area increases evaporation and boast ir humidty till 80 if u cant measure humidty then put ur hand in of tne air feels wet ur good if dry thats bad
